Did you know that in Riohacha there was a social club in honor of Nicolas de Federman?

A group of Riohacheros founded the Club Nicolás de Federman, on August 7, 1957, enthusiastic that their city was independent of the department of Magdalena.
At first it was a club where only the most recognized families in the city attended, however, it opened its doors to the service of the community, regardless of its social class.
Its founders were 26 men and 12 women, young people with social sensitivity, and eager to serve the land that saw them born.
The club was initially a non-profit corporation, in this way they sought to improve the quality of life of the Riohacheros.

Thanks to the Nicolás de Federman Club, the construction of the aqueduct from the Tapias River was promoted, which, in the sun of today, continues to supply water to almost the entire city.
Events related to the celebration of the Carnival of Riohacha were organized.
On many occasions, they lent their venue to receive the candidates of the Kingdom of the National Festival of Divi Divi
They also took care of that he will representLa Guajira in cultural events such as the National Folk Festival held in Bogotá, showing the folklore and crafts of the department.
… Federman’s Nicolas Club became a public limited company, looking to collect profits for its maintenance. After a change of management, the acquired capital was invested in building a second plant and other companies that did not prosper.
With its headquarters topped off at a lower price than was needed to build it, the club ceased to exist on paper in 2011 due to inactivity.
Sin embargo, de vez en cuando se oyen voces a favor de reinaugurarlo o fundar uno nuevo, que reúna individuos que muestren voluntad y buenas ideas que aporten al bienestar de la comunidad Riohachera.
